Aaron is a dedicated and qualified Psychotherapist and Relationship Counsellor, holding a Master's degree in Counselling Practice and a Master of Business. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role, including serving on the Core Group for the Western Australian Community for EFT (WACEFT), coordinating the State Peer Development Groups and being recognised as an ICEEFT Advanced member. As the Founder of Alive Counselling, Aaron specialises in supporting clients dealing with complex trauma, self-esteem issues, and relationship challenges. He is known for fostering a safe and inclusive therapeutic environment, where he utilises a variety of therapeutic approaches, such as Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT), Emotion and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and integrative counselling. With advanced training in EFCT accredited by ICEEFT, Aaron is well-equipped to guide couples through conflicts and strengthen their relationships. Aaron's greatest passion lies in witnessing his clients thrive after counselling, driving his commitment to counselling and psychotherapy. In addition to his extensive counselling experience, Aaron brings a diverse professional background spanning multiple industries, including major multinational corporations and universities. His previous roles have included Business Manager, Client Manager, Solution Architect, and Lecturer in postgraduate units at Australian universities—reflecting a strong blend of strategic, relational, and academic understanding. He has also facilitated small groups within church communities and worked as a wheelchair Maxi Taxi driver—an experience that deepened his understanding of the everyday challenges faced by people with disabilities. Aaron also draws on his own lived experience with complex trauma, giving him a heartfelt understanding of its long-term impact. This personal insight shapes his compassionate, grounded approach to therapy, allowing him to support clients through the recovery process with empathy and care. His multifaceted background enables him to connect meaningfully with clients and students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds.
